Today was a reminder that true love doesn’t need all the frills and fancies – it just needs, well, love. And maybe a bit of sunshine and some good food. Molly and Alex tied the knot in the most charmingly unpretentious style at the Tampa Bay Watch, surrounded by a close-knit group of 30 family and friends who were all about the good vibes.

These two lovebirds opted for simplicity and sincerity over spectacle. As their day of coordinator, I swapped my director’s hat for a sun hat and got down to the business of casual, with a capital C. We set up folding chairs (no muss, no fuss) to embrace the natural backdrop, and the sun did us a solid by providing the best lighting no money can buy.

Come the wedding day, it was all hands on deck – but not in the way you might think. No over-the-top fanfare here. Just the essential, heartfelt stuff. Elite Events popped by with the bare necessities while Karen, my trusty assistant, and I flitted around ensuring the ‘I dos’ had their due.

But life loves a good curveball, doesn’t it? The guests, fueled by excitement (or maybe just really good traffic), started rolling in a whole hour early! It was all hands on deck, as Karen and I gracefully adapted to the new timeline, welcoming everyone with the warmth that only an unexpected start can stir up.

Molly and Alex? They made their grand entrance with a walk down the aisle together, sans music, just their synced heartbeats. Post-ceremony, we swapped ceremony chairs for cocktail tables quicker than you can say ‘Just Married,’ and kicked off the cocktail hour with games on the lawn and tunes from The Talented Wedding Singer.

The night was a blur of buffet-style eats, belly laughs, and a shuttle service that ferried guests to an after-party at Billy’s Stone Crab.

As I wrap up this entry, the remnants of decor are packed away, and I’m left with the echo of laughter and the sight of two people so clearly meant for each other. It was a wedding that was rich in love and light on pretension, a day that Molly and Alex, and maybe even the seagulls, won’t soon forget.
